Antistatic mats

An antistatic mat creates a safe work surface for handling electronics sensitive to electrostatic discharge. It helps dissipate charge along a controlled path and complements a functional EPA workplace.

We supply bench and service mats for assembly, repairs, inspection and temporary workstations. We will help you choose the right size, design and correct way of grounding.

What the mat does

What an antistatic mat solves

A mat is not just protection for the desk surface. In an EPA workplace it creates a controlled working area for placing components, tools and work in progress, and it works correctly only as part of a grounded system.

Controlled charge dissipation

The mat surface helps dissipate electrostatic charge along a safe and controlled path.

Protection of sensitive components

It reduces the risk of damaging ESDS components during routine handling.

Common working potential

It helps equalise the potential between the operator, the product and the work surface.

Connection to grounding

The mat is connected to a grounding point with a ground cable; without a connection it does not perform its function on its own.

Durability for service and assembly

Selected designs withstand heat, soldering tips and everyday operation.

Custom size option

Mats can be supplied as finished pieces or on rolls depending on the type of workplace.

When to address it

When an antistatic mat makes sense

Upgrading a desk

You are upgrading an existing workbench

A suitable solution where you want to adapt a standard workplace for safer work with electronics.

Service and assembly

You are equipping a service or assembly point

The mat creates a controlled work surface for repairs, testing and assembly of sensitive components.

Smaller workplace

You are setting up a smaller or temporary EPA workplace

Portable or loose-laid mats are suitable for flexible workstations and for extending an existing operation.

Part of the whole

The mat as part of the whole EPA workplace

A correctly chosen mat works best when it ties into the other elements of the EPA area. The workbench, the grounding point, operator grounding and the way sensitive components are handled all matter. That is why we do not deal only with the mat material itself, but also with how it is integrated into the whole system.

  • Connection to the grounding point
  • A suitable addition to an ESD workbench or a standard work surface
  • Size based on the type of work and available space
  • Use for permanent and temporary workplaces
Process

How choosing a mat works

Step 1

You describe the type of workplace

We want to know whether it is service, assembly, inspection or extending an existing EPA place.

Step 2

We recommend size and design

We select a suitable format, surface type and way of placement based on your operation.

Step 3

We add grounding and accessories

We propose cables, connections and other ESD elements so that the mat works correctly.

From the knowledge base

Without a connection to a grounding point, a mat does not perform its function. Read what makes a workplace truly functional.
